Friendship is First Mobius Necklace
A piece of inscribed jewelry expresses and affirms our individuality, such as a prayer that has offered us comfort, to a quotation that has inspired us or a song that reminds us of the beauty of life. This mobius necklace is inscribed: "Friendship is first. Friendship last." with Henry David Thoreau's signature from his book Walden. Thoreau wrote this, his most famous work, while living on Walden Pond in close harmony with nature. He was a true champion of the environment and the individual. His friendships were varied and intimate and included many of the prominent writers and political figures of his day.
The mobius circle represents the seeming paradox of a plane without end and therefore is considered a symbol for infinity. The pendant moves on the chain when worn, changing its appearance continually, while the message remains constant, having no begin and no end, so the words continue forever.
