This beautiful black walnut bowl began as a gnarly piece of wood.  With talent and a lathe, the artist highlights the wood’s unique features, such as the grain and the coarse edge of the bark from the tree.  This bowl is turned on the lathe to almost a paper thin quality and is extremely light.  Finished and buffed with carumba wax gives it a soft luster.
